GOLDEN AFTERNOON SILK SCARF

$65.00

My Inspiration (from November 2020)— While traveling through the woodlands of the U.S. East Coast, I’ve become intrigued by the nostalgia in which childhood bedtime stories and fairytales have left on my imagination. And with autumn days turning quicker towards dusk, I’ve been encapsulated by the warm light of the “golden afternoon.” This phrase, used in the tale of Alice in Wonderland, paints a scene of carpeted forests and whimsical blooms, packaged in an abundance of glowing sunlight and songbirds. It’s two small words that paint a whole world of warmth and joy.

In 2020, Jodi Bager from Silk/Soie and I started a collaboration, where I would illustrate something magical, and she would then embroider my vision before turning it into a captivating design for a silk scarf. Two years later, my original illustration of “Golden Afternoon” has been carefully and beautifully embroidered and is now glowing across the silk threads of a luxury scarf. This was simply a collaboration made in heaven, and I wear our piece today with so much love.

Details: 35 by 35 inch square silk scarf, printed double-sided on silk twill with a hand-rolled edge, illustrated in the U.S.A. and designed in Canada, limited edition.
