UDON FOR TWO (WITH ORIGAMI CRANE)

There are infinite reasons as to why the country of Japan should be explored, but for me, the cuisine is certainly top of the list. Udon was one of my all-time favorite dishes growing up. It was what I always wanted to order at the Japanese restaurants (before I started eating sashimi), and it was one of my mother’s go-to breakfasts for me and my sister. We enjoyed several meals of udon during our time in Japan, but this was by far the best one.

This intentionally wild drawing illustrates a snapshot of two colorful bowls of udon: one dry udon with egg yolk and one hot kitsune udon. This was our final meal in Japan, and I can still remember the incredible bounce of the noodles in my mouth. It was a meal so good, I just had to illustrate it.

(Purchase of this piece comes with one free origami crane ornament!)
