ORGANIC LEMONGRASS POUCHES

Lemongrass is a pivotal ingredient in the Thai culture. It’s used generously in soups, stir-fries, curries, and even teas, bringing, not only a spectacular flavor, but also a long list of health benefits to the table. Even without consumption, lemongrass provides great therapeutic value with a scent said to reduce anxiety, relieve stress, and repel insects. It’s often used in homes to promote a stimulating, uplifting, and energizing space, while keeping the air smelling both clean and fresh.

Lemongrass, to me, smells like a tightly-packed jar of citrus, earth, and ginger. It’s a bright scent that’s both sweet and sharp at the same time— extremely powerful, but not in the slightest, overwhelming. I decided to sew a number of pouches, using a very special fabric we naturally dyed on an fully-sustainable, organic farm in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Because the fabric was hand tie-dyed, each pouch holds a different design, meaning no pouch is the same. Stuffed inside each sepia pouch is a generous handful of dried organic lemongrass, tied securely closed with a repurposed button and some twine.
